While the motto of "hands-face-space" is sure to be part of routine in the club, it's obvious that trust is increasing and that there is a greater number of face-to-face relationships. Rotary is indeed changing. In the months leading up to summer 2021 there is still uncertainty about the way we'll provide support to our community, which is based on the human connections that was enjoyed by Rotary former members. The phrase "hands meet in front of each other" will be one of the routines, but it's clear there's an increase in faith and desire to connect face-to face. Rotary is changing too. Rotary has evolved. The pandemic has prompted us to enhance our technology practices. We maintain our business online, but we have also introduced a volunteer and social activities. In order to create a new exciting future, we've seized this opportunity and combined these with our most effective pre-pandemic strategies. It's an encouraging thing to hear that 75% of Rotary clubs intend to keep their "business as usual" actions. This summer there have been a lot of Rotary club members have been seen in public focusing on various projects including river and beach clean-ups, litter removal and beach cleanups. We are aware that volunteering through the network of Rotary creates lasting friendships built on the shared experience volunteering for the community's benefits. It's thrilling to witness the way our members have developed innovative ways to solve certain of the most challenging issues. I'm so grateful for the fact that Rotary allowed me to become a member in 2002. Rotary, like so many others has given me a solid network of people who are committed to my ideals and from whom I have made genuine connections over the past 20 years.
